Before sending samples
Label all samples clearly with patient name, species, clinic, and collection date/time.
Include relevant clinical history, current antimicrobial therapy, sample site, and requested tests.
Keep collected samples cool until collection or delivery. Do not freeze unless specifically instructed.
Contact GeneXLabs before sending urgent, unusual, or time-sensitive samples.
Sample Reception
Routine sample reception: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
For samples outside these hours, please contact GeneXLabs before submission.
Turnaround times
CBC, serum chemistry, progesterone: same day for suitable samples received during sample reception hours.
Urinalysis: same day.
Culture and sensitivity: usually 2–3 days, depending on organism growth and testing requirements.
Microbiology samples
Submit suitable samples in sterile containers or appropriate transport media.
Provide sample site, collection method, clinical history, and current antimicrobial therapy.
Avoid submitting dried, leaking, unlabelled, or poorly stored samples.
